Brian was born in Kerrville, Texas at Sid Peterson Hospital before moving to Robinson, Texas where he attended public school prior to attending Texas A&M University. There he majored in Chemical Engineering and Pre-Med. Before graduating he was accepted to medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he received his medical degree in 1985. Brian completed his medical training in Emergency Medicine at the Naval Hospital San Diego, California.
During his naval career he was Medical Officer of Destroyer Squadron Seven serving in both the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean in addition to being a staff ER physician. Brian is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and practiced in the San Antonio area from 1993 through 2005. He with a colleague in 2004 created Urgent Care & Occupational Health Centers of Texas (Boerne Urgent Care) that later expanded to a four clinic system that treated 50,000 patients a year. The company was sold to a large corporation in 2015. His experience growing up in a small town, working as a businessman and physician, and serving with an executive staff in the Navy provided him skills in leadership and management that can be applied in his position on City Council.
Brian with his wife, Cindy, whom he married at St Helena’s Episcopal Church, raised their two children in downtown Boerne in their restored 1907 Victorian home after moving here in 1999. They both are co-founders of the Geneva School of Boerne and have volunteered in various organizations over the years. They love the walkability of the downtown area are often seen strolling the trails that surround their home. Brian and Cindy are eager to share the beauty of Boerne with all their family and friends and look forward to serving with others in this loving and caring community.
