Boerne can get pretty chilly in the wintertime! We have 9 fun ways to enjoy a memorable Boerne experience with things to do that will keep you warm and indoors this winter.
1. Eat
Boerne has an excellent array of restaurants, bakeries, and coffeehouses! You’re sure to keep warm with a hot plate of delicious food at any one of our fabulous eating establishments. Check out our Coffee Crawl to stay extra warm with a hot cup o’ joe at Boerne’s hottest coffee spots.
2. Shop
The shopping in Boerne is unparalleled! Find the best in high-end boutique clothing, home décor and furnishings, jewelry and so much more. While shopping, take time to linger inside the toasty walls of some of Boerne’s most charming, historic buildings.
3. Live Music
In Boerne, live music takes place just about every weekend at various locations including local wineries and breweries, restaurants, bars, the library – even one of our caves! Take a look at our Facebook calendar for a full list of performances and events!
4. Create
Whether you’re experimenting with canvas, making an original sign for your home, or letting the kiddos have free creative reign on their favorite ceramic cartoon character—this is a great way to escape the shivery weather outside. Interested in pottery? Create your own at one of Hill Country Pottery’s workshops!
5. Kid’s Activities
Some other great family-friendly activities (next to painting and being creative) include two options that are on completely opposite ends of the spectrum. NinjaCity is an indoor obstacle gym built for people of all ages, but especially kids. If you’re looking for something a little more mellow, check out the programs and resources at the Patrick Heath Public Library!
6. Performing Arts
If you’ve got a love for performing arts, sitting inside a cozy theater is another great way to escape the blustery winds of winter. Boerne Performing Arts will continue their season in January with Voctave. You can also catch Widow in Mink in January and Mixed Couples in February at the Boerne Community Theatre!
7. Caverns
Boerne’s caves are great! They are a perfect blend of outdoor exploration while also dodging the colder weather. The caves maintain a year-round temperature of 66*! So step down into the wonders of Cave Without A Name or Cascade Caverns to learn about the history of the ancient structures that have lured audiences underground for decades!
8. Wine/Brew/Distillery Tastings & Tours
Our town and its surrounding area are choc-FULL of wineries and breweries to taste and/or tour. There is even a distillery available for tastings and tours! See a full list here to begin your tasting adventure!
9. Pampering
Colder, dryer temperatures can be super damaging to skin and hair—combat the season’s effects with a relaxing getaway to Boerne. Book appointments for massages, nail and hair makeovers, tanning and even salt therapy!
