Calling all coffee lovers! Boerne has an incredible selection of locally owned and operated coffee shops. The best part about coffee and the craft of making it is that it’s an incredibly diverse beverage! If you’re not a coffee lover, it’s probably because you haven’t found your drink yet. Well, there is no better time than the present to discover your flavor. Interested in finding out what yours might be? Follow our list of Boerne’s coffee shops and find out!
The Brew:
Bear Moon Bakery is both a local and visitor favorite. Segafredo is the brand of their Italian dark roast coffee, which is 100% Arabica. They also offer 2 flavors of drip-coffee – Texas Pecan and Cinnamon Hazelnut – and their roaster is located just up the road in Gruene, Texas. With a coffee manager on staff who recently completed training at the Texas Coffee School in Fort Worth, we think Bear Moon may know a thing or two about tasty coffee!
More Than Coffee:
Who can forget their mouth-watering Pigs in a Blanket? Next to those, which tend to be a house special, Bear Moon also serves pastries, cakes, cookies, and so many other delicious and decadent goods baked fresh every day. Their café style breakfast buffet and lunch menu are also big crowd pleasers!
The Brew:
New to Boerne’s Hill Country Mile is the Black Rifle Coffee Company. When it comes to coffee, the beans are roasted here at home in Nashville and Salt Lake City, and BRCC imports those beans from all over the world. There is much to boast in their roasts! Try the Just Black Blend sourced from Arabica, or the AK47 Espresso which is a Columbian and Brazilian blend. Yum!
More Than Coffee:
If you’re on the go, grab one of their savory breakfast sandwiches or baked goods! A casual lunch menu is also available for anyone who prefers sandwiches and clubs. After some time to get settled and establish their regulars, we are excited to see what kind of fun this coffee shop will bring to the heart of Boerne!
The Brew:
While this building is more than 100 years old, it has been the Boerne Grill/Daily Grind since 1992. Their coffees are sourced from the Texas Coffee Traders in Austin, TX, and their beans are roasted fresh every week! Daily Grind offers 5 different coffee roasts each day from light to dark and plenty more in between. Some of their popular flavors include the Flathead Cherry and Huckleberry flavors.
More Than Coffee:
All of the Grind’s baking is done in-house every day! Butter cakes, breads, pies and so much more. They also offer breakfast tacos, sweet strawberry waffles, and lots of savory breakfast plates with sausage gravy, eggs, and bacon – everything is made to order!
The Brew:
The Bubble Tea Factory is also new to Boerne, serving up What’s Brewing Coffee Roasters coffee, a San Francisco blend. Some of their unique flavors include toffee, peppermint (perfect for the holidays), banana, and blueberry! What’s more – you can get your face (or the face of someone you love) printed on your coffee!
More Than Coffee:
Boba Teas are all the rage right now! Colorful, sweetly flavored teas with “pearls” (chewy tapioca balls), creamer, milk, and sugar will delight your taste buds. Get a Boss Bagel to pair with your drink, as well! Choose from savory or sweet, or mix and match cream cheese flavors with bagel flavors to make your own signature breakfast or mid-day snack.
The Brew:
The Dienger brings locally roasted (just down the road in San Antonio) Merit Coffee to their historic location just across from Main Plaza in downtown Boerne. Merit sources their coffee from a variety of places including Colombia, Ethiopia, Ecuador and Nicaragua. From iced to hot, espresso to latte, The Dienger Trading Co.’s baristas are skilled in the coffee arts and can whip up just about any beverage you need to get your day going.
More than Coffee:
A variety of freshly baked goods like muffins, scones and kolaches fill the case every morning, but if your tummy is crying for something a little heartier, order up a hot breakfast or maybe a tasty lunch from the bistro’s kitchen to compliment your caffeinated beverage of choice.
The Brew:
Richter Bakhaus is new on the Hill Country Mile, and another fabulous addition to the 153 Main enterprise! We spoke with the manager herself, and she told us that they tried a lot of different coffees before landing on Molongo – a French coffee. It’s super smooth and doesn’t carry a bitter coffee aftertaste. Get traditional flavors as well as unique ones like homemade lavender lattes and matcha tea, too!
More Than Coffee:
The Bakhaus is also quickly becoming known for their bread! Made traditionally, freshly, and from-scratch every day, their sourdough loaves, baguettes, and mini loaves are flying off the shelves! Their baker is somewhat of a bread connoisseur, getting that perfect, very moist and chewy texture on the inside with a crispy crust on the outside. Also, try one of their “duffins”— a donut muffin hybrid that’ll keep you coming back for more!
