A Brief History
Built in 1859, The Kendall has always been a stagecoach stop and inn, it was also the home of Erastus and Sarah Reed. They purchased the land from John James for a mere $200. It stands as one of Texas’ longest continuously running hotels. In earlier days of traveling, homeowners would often share their spare rooms for weary travelers, renting out the spare rooms of the inn to stagecoach travelers and horsemen. The Kendall is both a Texas and National Landmark. Some famous guests include Dwight D. Eisenhower, Robert E. Lee, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton!
Peggy’s on the Green
Inside the inn, dive into the scrumptious menu of Peggy’s on the Green.
