Spartan Race – March 23, 2019
Just in time to welcome in the warmer weather, the Spartan Race will take place THIS month! Choose from 3 different packages for adults – Super, Sprint and Para. The Super race is a middle distance race that blends the challenges of distance and speed. The Sprint race is a shorter distance, but it’s all about your time! Lastly, the Para race is a learning event where other Para racers all join in as a team; this is an opportunity for new racers to get introduced to Spartan. There is even a package for kiddos who are interested in testing their limits, too!
Out at the beautiful Don Strange Ranch, waves of 150+ racers will be released into the course throughout the day. There are passes available for spectators as well! This is an event that the whole family can enjoy. Cash prizes are up for grabs for the first, second, and third place winners, but everyone gets free professional photos, a medal, a t-shirt, drinks and snacks, and bragging rights! Get your best performance gear on and head out for a day of conquering elite obstacles and lots of muddy waters!
Prepare to get down and dirty in the Hill Country Thunderdash 5K Mob Run! There is also a 10K option for anyone who is feeling particularly energetic. Expect to see obstacles, ropes, slides, hills and let’s not forget…LOTS of mud pits!! This is definitely a race that encourages team efforts, so call your friends up and get them excited to roll around in the dirt. There is a non-mud, non-obstacle option for anyone looking for a good, clean race as well.
The course is located just north of Boerne, and will remain a secret until race day gets closer so as not to spoil the course! Throughout the day, participants take off in waves of up to 150 every 20 minutes. Waves are open to ages 14 to 99+, and anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian racing with them throughout the race. Your registration fee will earn you a t-shirt, a medal, and bragging rights of course! Hay rides throughout the course will also be available to anyone who just wants to come and be a supportive spectator. Food trucks and post-race comfort foods will be ready and waiting for you at the finish line!
