If you’ve ever experienced Boerne’s local restaurant scene, you know there is an abundance of choices! Well, we did the work for you with the hope of inspiring you to indulge completely and order all your favorite courses from all your favorite restaurants in town! Ever heard of a “progressive dinner”? That’s what we’re going for here! You can choose to make this one big night of favorites, or spread out your dates over multiple occasions.
Cocktails –
We recently wrote a blog post on some of Salvador Dobbs’ holiday cocktails, and those bad boys are truly delicious! Dobbs serves martini’s, spiked hot cocoa, and everything in between. We know you’ll enjoy their perfectly curated cocktail list as a great start to your Valentine’s dinner. You can also opt for draft and bottled beers, wine, and champagne! Next to that, the Dobbs stage is typically full on the weekends with live music performances. So get ready to boogie with local Texas Hill Country artists!
Appetizers –
Appetizers or “Bar Snacks” at the Cibolo Creek Brewing Co. are made with the freshest of ingredients. CCBC sources from local, Texas farms. That being said, the tastes are definitely something you don’t want to pass up! Opt for a “Bier Bun” which contains browned goat, cabbage, cheese and a fried egg all wrapped in a potato roll – um, YUM! Or pair their Market Board (complete with artisanal cheeses, meats, and pickled seasonal veggies) with house-made jam and beer-infused mustard. But get ready folks – this is only the warm-up for the food marathon we have set out for you!
Main Course –
Alright, we know you’ve been at the edge of your seat waiting for the main course choice! The philosophy at Valeria Ristorante Italiano is that “life is too short to eat bad food”. That statement rings true here, as they are another Boerne restaurant that bring fresh local ingredients to the table! The extensive dinner menu at Valeria will make it hard to choose what to have for your main course, but hey – who doesn’t like to have options? Every kind of pasta you can think of is available, paired with farm-raised meats and doused in delectable Italian sauces (ranging from red to creamy white) that will inspire your palate. You may even decide to devise another date night by taking advantage of their cooking classes (sign up for that via email at [email protected]). Enjoy a glass of exceptional wine with your dinner as well – the chef is an expert on pairing wines with his entrees and will have several recommendations!
Dessert –
Okay, maybe you’re the type that’s all about the sweets, and the main course isn’t the course that’s keeping you on your toes all night (guilty!). The Creek Restaurant’s selections are as beautiful as they are decadent. Choose from items like Chocolate Mousse Cake, Peach Cobbler, Cheesecake, Key Lime Pie, Assorted Gelato or maybe even Beso de Angel ( Red wine and strawberry marmalade infused white cake topped with basil, mascarpone and Kahlua Cream liqueur).
After Dinner Drinks –
If we’ve done our job right, you should be in a comfortable food coma by now. But while your meal is settling, opt for after-dinner drinks with Peggy’s On The Green! Here, you’ll find a full bar with wine and cocktail menus (both are 3 pages long). Try a signature cocktail or order your favorite go-to drink. Their bartenders are sure to please! Beer is in no short supply either – even non-alcoholic beers are available. Finish off your night in the relaxing, upscale bar Peggy’s has created inside the historic The Kendall. This will be a date to remember!
