Where’s the beef? It’s in Boerne apparently. There were so many fabulous burgers in town that it was difficult to pick only 5 to feature in this post. Here’s the scoop on some of the best around, where to find them on the Hill Country Mile (and just a hair off "The Mile") and how you can customize your burger to "have it your way".
We challenge you to taste them all! Post photos using #boerneburger. We would love to see YOUR Boerne Burger!
This mile-high burger was voted one of the top 50 best burgers in Texas by Texas Monthly Magazine last year, and it’s easy to see why! It contains 1/2 lb. certified Angus beef grilled to perfection, with homemade pickles, tomatoes, lettuce and onions on a white sourdough bun, topped with gently spiced homemade dressing. It’s perfect for a hearty lunch out on their patio. It’s perfect paired with a German beer.
- Pimento Cheese Burger
Chef Mark Bohannan has crafted an incredibly unique burger here. It’s 100% Akaushi beef patty is smothered in melty fire roasted jalapeno pimento cheese, served with lettuce and tomato on a brioche bun. All of their amazing burgers are served with house made french-fries. If you’re a fry-lover, an order of their Loaded Fries needs to be on the table! Who doesn’t love fries topped with heirloom cherry tomatoes, bacon, green onions and cheddar cheese topped with Texas white BBQ sauce?
- Buffalo Burger
Cypress Grille’s 8 oz. Buffalo Burger with Havarti cheese and Applewood smoked bacon is so hefty it needs a skewer to stabilize it! Keep the stack going by adding avocado, mushrooms, caramelized shallots and/or jalapeños to your burger tower. This beauty of a burger is served with a side of hand cut fries.
- Signature Magnum Cheeseburger
Just like all their burgers, Soda Pops' Signature Magnum Burger is made with always fresh, never frozen beef patties. The Magnum is 1 lb. patty, topped with crisp, cool veggies, melted Swiss and cheddar cheese, green chilis and jalapenos sautéed in creamy butter, snuggled up inside a toasted jalapeño bun. Feel free to get creative and customize your burger any way you like with crispy smokehouse bacon, velvety avocado and fresh, sautéed mushrooms! Don’t forget to add a shake to your order from their sister store, the Sugar Shack, one door down.
- B.E.S.T. Burger on a Potato Roll
1/3 lb. grass fed Wagyu BEef from South Texas with arugula, pickled onions, house mayo & beer mustard (the seeds are soaked in beer!). Feeling a bit cheesy? Add some. They offer cheddar, feta, swiss, mozzarella and goat cheese as an add on. Another popular addition is a FRIED EGG. YUMMO! There is also a home-made veggie patty option available should you want to go that route. Their burgers are all served with a side of fries and their home-made catsup. The catsup has a truly a unique flavor. There is star of anise in it and it’s perfect!
