The City of Boerne is pleased to announce that Interim Director of Planning Nathan Crane has been promoted to Director of Planning.
Crane joined the City in November 2022 as the Assistant Director of Planning.
“We are excited to have Nathan’s mission-driven, strategic performance management, and people leadership as part of our executive team,” City Manager Ben Thatcher said. “This appointment reflects not only the dedication and municipal latitude he brings but the City’s collective commitment to ensuring the continued success and progress of the development process.”

His career has included working for a private planning consultant in Utah and holding advanced municipal planning positions in other communities.
“This has been a whirlwind year and I am excited to lead a talented and public service-driven team,” Crane said. “We are committed to thoughtfully and strategically working with residents and the development community to maintain our unique and vibrant Hill Country community.
Nathan has a Bachelor of Science in Planning & Resource Management from Brigham Young University and has held the American Institute of Certified Planner (AICP) designation since 2001.
