[ARCHIVED] City moves brush, bulk collection to second week of month

WM trash truck

Starting in June 2023, the City of Boerne’s residential collection provider WM will move its brush and bulk pickup to the second full week of the month.

This collection has been conducted during the first full week of the month since the program began a few years ago. The change was made in response to the popularity of the service and to allow for a more consistent collection process.

WM also provides this service to other communities in the area. By making this change the City of Boerne will no longer have to split trucks and crews with other cities, allowing WM to focus solely on Boerne during the second week of the month.

Under the new schedule, the June brush and bulk pickup will be the week of the 12-16. As always, residents may place yard waste at the curb with bulk items. The total pile size of bulk and yard waste items is limited to four cubic yards (3ft x 3ft x 12ft). For the safety and protection of WM employees and equipment, branches, and tree trimmings must be no greater than 5 inches in diameter and be cut, tied, and bundled in five-foot lengths.

Additionally, crews from the City of Boerne continue to conduct a separate brush collection during the third week of the month. Customers must schedule this brush collection no later than the last business day before the third week of the month.

Customers can schedule one brush collection through the city per calendar year at no charge. Each additional brush collection will be charged at $25 plus tax on your next utility bill. To schedule a brush collection from the City, call Customer Care and Billing at (830) 249-9511 option 1.
