City of Boerne residential customers who have their garbage and recyclables collected through the City’s contract with WM (Waste Management) will see a slight increase in their monthly garbage bill beginning March 1, 2023. The increase amounts to less than a dollar per month for customers.
Effective March 1, the monthly base garbage rate will increase to $19.44 for customers with one residential waste wheeler plus the 64-gallon recycling cart. The new rate for customers with two waste wheelers plus a recycling cart will be $26.59. These new rates will have applicable sales tax added. The new garbage collection rates also include the once per month brush pick up and bulk item collections. The previous rates were $18.61 and $25.76.
The contract between the City of Boerne and WM, Inc. provides for an annual increase based on the CPI (consumer price index). This year the increase amounts to five percent.
Boerne Utilities customers can sign up for electronic bill paying services which includes web payment and automatic credit card or checking account drafts, text to pay, or try the updated Boerne app, to save time and money. Customers also have the option of signing up for the Average Monthly Payment plan so that monthly bills are about the same amount each month, making budgeting simpler. See a list of bill pay options.
