[ARCHIVED] Boerne City Lake Park: Updated Rules, Guidelines

graphic reading "Boerne City Lake: Updated Rules and Guidelines"

As the holiday weekend quickly approaches, the City of Boerne Parks and Recreation Department has updated its list of prohibited activities at Boerne City Lake Park.

Effective immediately, no one will be allowed to use a firepit or BBQ pit. The ones permanently installed will be covered to prevent usage.

Due to the heightened fire danger, the City wants to decrease the chances of a fire occurring. In the past month alone, crews from the Boerne Fire Department have responded to 19 calls for brush/grass fires and mutual aid calls.

Please plan to bring prepared foods with you to enjoy at the lake while the BBQ pits are closed.

This added precaution is in addition to our normal park rules that also prohibit glass, confetti, and swimming and wading near the boat ramp.

Reminder, parks hours for Easter weekend are 5 a.m. – 10 p.m. The price for entry is $15 per vehicle on Friday and Saturday and $20 on Sunday.

Should the lake reach capacity, additional vehicles will not be allowed in. Check the Boerne Parks and Recreation Facebook page for updates.

We appreciate the public’s understanding as we strive to keep our park visitors and public safety personnel safe.
