[ARCHIVED] Rates increasing slightly for residential waste collection

Waste Management Trash Bins

City of Boerne residential customers who have their garbage and recycling collected through the City’s contract with Waste Management will see a slight increase in their monthly garbage bill. The increase amounts to less than 80 cents per month for customers.

Effective March 1, 2022, the monthly base garbage rate will increase to $18.61 for customers with one residential waste wheeler plus the 64-gallon recycling cart. The new rate for customers with two waste wheelers plus a recycling cart will be $25.76. These new rates will have applicable sales tax added. The new garbage collection rates also include the once-per-month brush pick up and bulk item collections. The previous rates were $17.82 and $24.97.

The contract between the City of Boerne and Waste Management, Inc. provides for an annual increase based on the CPI (consumer price index). This year the increase amounts to five percent.

Boerne Utilities customers can sign up for electronic bill paying services, which includes web payment and automatic credit card or checking account drafts, or try the new Boerne app to save time and money.
