During this season of giving, 37 employees from the City of Boerne teamed up to volunteer at local nonprofits during the month of December.
The City’s Human Resources department coordinated the Employee Give Back Days, partnering with Hill Country Daily Bread, Hill Country Family Services, and the Kendall County Women’s Shelter.
At Hill Country Family Services, volunteers helped organize a stock room and build new shelving for grocery and other items available to families in need. Volunteers visited Hill Country Daily Bread on two days to sort through donated food items, pack pallets for delivery, prep for a holiday party, and much more. City employees also picked up paint brushes and rollers to give a fresh coat to the halls and a conference room at the Kendall County Women’s Shelter.
“We are proud to partner with the wonderful organizations that serve Boerne and the Hill Country every day,” Human Resources Director Lisa Robles said. “The Give Back Days initiative demonstrates the true heart of the employees at the City of Boerne and helps us build lasting connections with our community.”
The City of Boerne will continue to provide opportunities for its employees to partner with these and other community-focused organizations.
