Officers talk to residents seated at National Night Out event

More than 600 people attended National Night Out gatherings around Boerne Oct. 5, 2021, as residents and Boerne Police officers came together to build a stronger community.

Officers partnered with residents to plan neighborhood gatherings, leading to a successful comeback after last year’s National Night Out was canceled due to the pandemic.

In all, 11 gatherings were held in and around Boerne, with attendance from 22 officers and about 665 residents. The largest event was held at the Ranches at Creekside neighborhood with more than 100 people attending. The event had food trucks, a bounce house for kids, face painting, and yard games. Other gatherings were held at:

  • Park Meadows
  • Woods of Boerne
  • H-E-B
  • Oak Knoll
  • English Oaks
  • Ranches at Creekside
  • Bentwood
  • Southglen
  • Devonshire
  • Lehmann/Hughes
  • Heart Of Boerne

National Night Out is an annual, nation-wide campaign that promotes community-police partnerships to establish trust and neighborhood camaraderie. The goal is to make our community a safer place to live, work, and play.
