Did autumn even happen if you didn’t document it with a pumpkin patch pic? Dress up in your Halloween costumes or dawn your riding boots and infinity scarves for the quintessential fall event- a photo surrounded by bright orange gourds in a quaint small-town patch! Boerne has TWO locations to check out this year and we have the scoop on how to maximize your fun while there.
For years, families have traveled far and wide to visit the Boerne First United Methodist Church’s patch. It’s open from 10 AM-7 PM at The AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the last 3 weeks in October. The setting is ideal for these festivities as The AgriCultural is home to a collection of antique tractors that welcome picture-takers. Pumpkins will be available for purchase until the patch is sold out. Guests can also enjoy touring the center and watching the blacksmith on Saturdays.
The AgriCultural will be offering some extra fun during pumpkin patch hours that you may want to enjoy. Join in on the Bluegrass Jam from 11 AM-1 PM on the 23rd or The AgriCultural Spooktacular from 10 AM-10 PM on the 30th. For the Spooktacular, the museum will turn into a haunted Halloween town with Area 51 Big Red Barn, The Wizard of Oz Pioneer house, and more! A DJ will play tunes in the evening with spooky movies on the walls.
The Bevy Hotel will be getting in on the pumpkin patch action this year and will be setting up a photo op outside with heaps of our favorite fall gourds for guests of all ages to enjoy from 3-7 PM on Friday-Sunday the last two weekends in October. Bring your camera and be sure to show them that you tagged the hotel in your fabulous fall photos on Instagram or Facebook for a FREE Doubletree cookie! The hotel will also be hosting a mimosa bar during pumpkin patch hours. Adults can get in on the fun with their adults-only costume contest on Saturday, October 30th as well.
Looking for some additional Halloween festivities to join in on? The Kuhlmann-King Museum will be telling Boerne Ghost Stories on the 9th and 23rd (make reservations in advance). The Boerne Concert Band will be entertaining with thrills and chills at their fall concert on the 10th. The Cibolo Nature Center will play host to night hikes and bat walks for adults on the 15th and families on the 22nd. Saturday, October 30th is going to be a busy day in Boerne this year. In addition to the activities mentioned above at the pumpkin patches, guests can find fun at Boerne Boo at the Patrick Heath Public Library, and the Cave Without a Name will have their annual Haunted Show down in the cave.
