Joined by his family and fellow officers, Boerne Police Officer Pablo Morales was promoted to sergeant during a ceremony Thursday.

Sergeant Morales began his career with BPD in 2012 and has received numerous accolades over the last nine years, including 12 Notice of Merits. He has also received two Life Saving Awards from the department, once in 2016 and again in 2017, after successfully resuscitating two people who had stopped breathing by performing CPR and administering an AED (automated external defibrillator).

“I have watched you grow as an officer and as a man over the past nine years and I am proud of your efforts,” Boerne Police Chief Jim Kohler said at the ceremony. “Your commitment in going back to college for a master’s degree is just another example of your energy and drive to be a committed leader within this agency.”

Sergeant Morales, who was first sworn in by Chief Kohler in 2012, has also taken a Leadership in Police Organizations course, further demonstrating his commitment to excellence in leadership.

“Your continued perseverance and aptitude have contributed measurably towards the success of your career, and those qualities will help us build a more effective department for our community,” Chief Kohler said.

Sergeant Morales thanked his family and fellow officers, including Chief Kohler, Lieutenant Mitchell Scoggins, Captain Steve Perez, and Assistant Chief Jeff Page, for their support and guidance throughout his life and career.
