Several street sections in the Bentwood neighborhood off Esser Road will be closed on an alternating schedule beginning Saturday, August 14, 2021, to allow a contractor to perform road maintenance.
Work is scheduled to end Thursday, August 19, 2021, with all roads to open on Friday, August 20, 2021. Work will not take place on Sunday, August 15, 2021, but some sections of street may be closed as a result of the work done on Saturday.
Streets included in the scheduled maintenance closures include Deer Creek Drive, Bentwood Drive, Hunters Creek, Vista Verde Drive, Lauren Lane and Christen Court. The closures will take place in segments to allow residents to come and go as easily as possible. Review the map below to see when each segment is scheduled.
Once work begins on a segment of a street, cars will not be allowed to drive on the street for 24 hours. Residents may park their cars further down the street outside the segments closed for maintenance. A golf cart shuttle service provided by the contractor, Andale Construction, will be available upon request for residents who need help getting from their home to their vehicles. See below for more information on the shuttle. Boerne Police will increase patrols in the neighborhood throughout the duration of the road work.
The contractor will be applying a high-density mineral bond product called HA5 designed to significantly extend the life of asphalt streets. It is regarded as a high-end product and is designed to last 10-15 years while maintaining its color over time. Nearby communities in the Dominion, Schertz, and Helotes have recently used HA5 on their roads. Learn more about the HA5 product.
What to Expect
The contractor will begin work at 7 a.m. on the day of each segment closure and allow vehicles to exit the segment until 7:30 a.m. The street being treated will remain closed for 24 hours. While your street is closed, you may park on the street in any open area outside the work zone and walk to and from your house.
Residents should plan to move their vehicles outside the work zone on the day before your scheduled street closure if you will need to leave your house. If your vehicle is parked on the street when work begins, it will be towed further down the street to a segment that is not closed at that time. Vehicle owners will not be charged for towing. If your vehicle is parked at your house in the driveway or in the garage when work starts on the street in front of your house, your vehicle will not be able to access the street for 24 hours.
How does the shuttle system work?
You should be able to park within walking distance of your home. If assistance is needed with transport between your home and your vehicle parked further down the street, please contact Andale Construction at (620) 804-2610 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. to schedule a shuttle time. Residents are asked to schedule the shuttle service in advance.
What about mail, deliveries and trash pickup?
Andale Construction has coordinated with the postal service to ensure residents receive mail and packages as scheduled. Trash will be picked up as scheduled.
How will this impact landscaping work?
Andale Construction asks that residents hold off landscape work while road work is underway and turn off sprinkler systems while the road is being treated and for 24 hours afterward.
How will this impact emergency vehicles?
Emergency vehicles will be able to access any home 24 hours a day.
