Folks know what’s waiting on the other side and that it’s worth the wait. The portions are generous, and the meats and sides are mouthwateringly memorable. Start making your dining wish list now for items like Raspberry Chipotle Pulled Pork Tacos, Beef Tacos Al Carbon, Smoked Beef or Chicken Fajitas, Mesquite Smoked Chicken and so much more. Chef Mark regularly has to put out his big red “We Are Sold Out” sign before 2:00 pm because it all flies out the door so quickly! Local foodie Facebook group, “Hill Country Eats! Interested in a quick little drive up FM 1376? Black Board Bar B Q is located mere minutes up the road in Sisterdale (their mailing address says Boerne, so it still counts!) and they are worth getting fired up about! Chefs Jake & Joe’s menu is dripping with juicy flavor and they have been getting attention from noteworthy sources across the state like Texas Monthly, USA Today 10Best, Kens5 Neighborhood Eats, San Antonio Express News’ 52 Weeks of BBQ, and MYSA. You’ll see why they are being talked about as soon as you sit down. Their menu board reads with selections of meat including Texas Raised Wagyu and Angus Brisket, Wild Boar Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage, and St. Louis Pork Ribs. Their sides are a whole new world. Don’t expect beans and potato salad because they’re nowhere to be found. What they’re serving up is even better! Add on some Luckenbach Lollipops, Mama’s Mac and Cheese, Creamed Corn Maque Choux, Texas Tater Chips, or a heaping portion of Joe’s Asian Slaw! Finish off your meal (if you still have room) with something sweet like house-made from scratch Carrot Cake, Fresh Seasonal Fruit Cobbler, or maybe some simple yet amazing Milk and Cookies. Pro Tip: if you want their famous Burnt Ends, GET THERE EARLY!
