Camp with Parks and Recreation

Spend the night at the lake with Boerne Parks and Recreation! Each year, we host a fun-filled Family Camp Out at Boerne City Lake. It's the only time for the entire year camping is allowed at the park.

What to Bring

You will need to bring all your camping supplies, including tents, sleeping bags, camp chairs, food, drinking water, and anything else you'll need to make you a happy camper.

Paddleboards, kayaks, fishing, and swimming are all welcome at this event. The park also has a volleyball net, disc golf course, and a playground.

About the Camp Sites

Remember, you will be in privative camp sites, which means no water or electricity. Be sure to plan accordingly. There are picnic tables in the park, but you aren't guaranteed to have one at your site. The park also has grills for you took cook up some camp grub, burn ban status permitting.

Park Rules

Boerne City Lake is a beauty, and we want to keep it that way. Help us out by following the park rules. Here are some of the big rules to be aware of.

  • No alcohol
  • No glass containers
  • All state fishing laws apply
  • No trot lines or throw lines
  • No ground fires
  • Grill fires allowed depending on current fire ban status
  • Well behaved pets are welcome and must be on a leash at all times
  • Clean up all trash at your campsite

October 7, 2023 | Family Camp Out

The next Family Camp Out is set for Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Boerne City Lake Park. 

You must register online ahead of time for this event. There are no fees to participate in the campout. Online registration opens September 1, 2023, and can be done on the Parks and Recreation booking site.
