Tax Assistance

Your FREE tax-preparation service is again available at the Patrick Heath Public Library.  AARP Tax Aide volunteers prepare and e-file individual income tax returns.  There are no income or age restrictions.

Tax returns will be prepared by appointment only from February 6 through April 18 every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 10 AM - 4 PM. The library is closed Monday, February 20, for Presidents' Day, and no appointments will be made for that day.

Spanish language tax assistance is available on Mondays.

You can contact the Library during our normal hours at (830) 249-3053 to make an appointment, but it's important that you have all your tax documents ready in time for your appointment. Additionally, you are required to complete IRS form 13614C prior to your appointment. It's available at the library or you can download it from the IRS website.

We can assist with tax questions and complete the most commonly used tax forms. Taxpayers must bring a copy of last year’s tax return, photo ID, and Social Security card for each person on the return. Volunteers preparing tax returns are not IRS employees, but are trained and certified by the IRS.
