City of Boerne Elections
Overview
The City of Boerne holds elections each year on the first Saturday in May. Elections for the Mayor and City Council Districts 2 and 4 are held in odd numbered years. Elections for City Council Districts 1, 3, and 5 are held in even numbered years.
The City Secretary’s Office manages municipal elections and receives candidate filing information. The City of Boerne contracts with the Kendall County Elections Department, which conducts each election.

- Frank Ritchie - 1,575 votes
- Nina Woolard - 499 votes
District 2
- Sharon D. Wright - 252 votes
- Joe Bateman - 231 votes
District 4
- Bryce Boddie - Ran unopposed for reelection.

Candidate Eligibility
Review the eligibility requirements for candidates of the Office of Mayor and City Council.
Mayor Eligibility
According to the City of Boerne Home Rule Charter, Section 3.03 Qualifications (as amended by voters May 12, 2012, and November 3, 2020).
The Mayor shall:
- Have resided continuously in the corporate limits of the City for 12 months immediately preceding the regular filing deadline for a candidate's application for a place on the ballot or on the date of appointment, as applicable; and
- Be registered to vote by the regular filing deadline for a candidate's application for a place on the ballot or on the date of appointment, as applicable; and
- Be 21 years of age or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election or on the date of appointment, as applicable; and
- Satisfy any other eligibility requirements prescribed by law for the office.
City Council Eligibility
According to the City of Boerne Home Rule Charter, Section 3.03 Qualifications (as amended by voters May 12, 2012, and November 3, 2020),
A City Council Member shall:
- Have resided continuously in the District from which they will be elected for 6 months immediately preceding the regular filing deadline for a candidate's application for a place on the ballot in that District or on the date of appointment, as applicable; and
- Be registered to vote by the regular filing deadline for a candidate's application for a place on the ballot or on the date of appointment, as applicable; and
- Be 21 years of age or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election or on the date of appointment, as applicable; and
- Satisfy any other eligibility requirements prescribed by law for the office.
