Adoption

The Animal Care Services shelter houses dogs and cats that are available for adoption.

Visit the Boerne ACS PetFinder account to see a list of available pets.

The shelter is open by appointment only on weekdays (except Wednesday) from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Call (830) 249-2456 or email [email protected] to schedule an appointment.

Why Adopt?

Adopting a pet from your local shelter is beneficial in so many ways for both the owner and the pet.

Healthy Pets

All adoptable pets from ACS are examined by a licensed veterinarian, vaccinated against rabies, treated for flea/heartworm prevention, and have been spayed or neutered.

Save Money

The adoption fees at Boerne ACS are much less than it would cost to buy from a breeder or pet store. Plus, by adopting you are supporting animals in need of a home.

Adoption Fees

Please see below for current adoption fees.

  • $105 - Dogs
  • $95 - Cats
  • $80 - Dogs/cats that have been spayed/neutered before arriving at the shelter

Fostering

ACS facilitates pet fostering for cats and dogs that are not yet ready for adoption. ACS provides all materials needed to care for an animal including food, blankets, puppy pads, medical care, and anything else a pet may need.

The work of a foster home is vital to the success of animals in our community. A foster home does the most important work of socializing animals and providing a temporary, safe home.

If you are interested in fostering a pet in your home, contact Animal Care Services at (830) 249-2456 or email [email protected].
