The Family History Place is a public library, bookstore, and historical research center operated by the Genealogical Society of Kendall County. In 2016, the Family History Place formed a partnership with FamilySearch from the LDS church in Boerne, which increased the number of free genealogical databases and websites available to all visitors.
A visit to the Family History Place in Boerne offers history buffs an opportunity to utilize numerous historical research websites including Ancestry.com, Fold3, My Heritage, Find My Past, Newspaper Archives, Alexander Street Press, Paper Trail, 19th Century British Library Newspaper Digital Archives, and more at no cost.
A collection of books are available for purchase in the shop and online featuring local, regional, and state history.
