Lackey, who has been with the department since 2004, assumes the position after the retirement of Assistant Chief Jeff Page at the end of February. He will be sworn in as the new Assistant Chief at a ceremony on Feb. 25, 2022.

Breaking Barriers: Boerne PD marks historic promotion ceremony

The ceremony included the promotion of seven officers, including the first promotion of a woman officer in department history. It also marked the first time an officer at the Boerne Department has received the rank of corporal. Lastly, the elevation in rank of seven officers makes this the largest promotion ceremony in department history.
