Permit Requirements

The City of Boerne adopted the 2009 edition of the International Fire Code inclusive of appendices and local amendments. Additionally, the 2009 edition of the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code is adopted by the city.

Fire Alarm, Fire Suppression, and Operational Permits are required prior to doing work or conducting certain types of operations.

The Fire Marshal's Office does not allow for fast-tracking projects. A permit must be secured prior to work being done and it must be posted at the job site. Approved construction plans must be made available for inspection at the job site at all times.

Fire Safety

Fire safety during construction will be monitored for the duration of the project. Projects in the design phase may require the submittal of a Fire Protection Plan.
