Kelly Skovbjerg

Experience

Kelly Skovbjerg began her career with the City of Boerne in 2002 as a reference librarian and then in 2003 became director of the Patrick Heath Public Library. In that time, she led the planning, fundraising, design and construction of a 30,250 square foot, LEED Gold-Certified public library which opened in 2011. She also assisted with the planning, design, construction and fundraising for the 250-seat outdoor amphitheater and restroom which opened in 2016.

Kelly has a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas, and has worked in academic, public and special libraries in Germany, Washington, D.C. and San Antonio. She has also taught information literacy courses for the University of Maryland.

In 2014, Kelly was elected to serve on the Central Texas Library System executive board for three terms, ending 2022, serving as board treasurer since 2017. From 2014-2017 she was appointed to the Texas Library Association (TLA) Tocker Foundation Committee, and has also served on the TLA Public Libraries Division executive board, the TLA Awards Committee, and the TLA Leadership Development Committee. In 2009 she was a member of the TLA Tall Texans Leadership Development Institute. Kelly is also a proud graduate of Leadership Boerne class of 2005.
