Boerne Overlay Districts

Boerne Overlay Districts Proposed

Overlay districts are used to apply area-specific standards or guidelines to a defined area or district.  Overlay zoning is a regulatory tool that creates a special zoning district, placed over an existing base zone, which identifies special provisions in addition to those in the underlying zoning district.

The City of Boerne has prepared visual preference surveys* for each of the proposed overlay districts.  The purpose of the survey is to get a better understanding of your visual preferences for each district so that we can craft design criteria in keeping with the community vision.

*Please note that the survey period for the proposed overlay districts has closed.
