ATTENTION Boerne Utilities Natural Gas Customers

An Excess Flow Valve (EFV) is designed to restrict the flow of natural gas automatically if the service line breaks, of example, as the result of an excavation accident.  Restricting the flow of natural gas from a broken services line significantly reduces the risk of a natural gas fire, explosion, personal injury and/or property damage.  You will be billed for the cost of installing the EFV: the average installation cost is in the $500-$1000 range, but the actual installation cost will depend on the difficulty of installation.

For more information, or if you wish to notify us that you want an Excess Flow Valve installed, please contact the City of Boerne Utility Customer Services Office at 830-249-9511.  After you notify us a Boerne Utilities representative will contact you to set up a meeting at the service location to review your individual situation to help you make a final decision regarding installation.
